WHERE NAILS MEET ART!

 NAILS GROWTH

Nails are an important part of the human body which serves many purposes. They provide protection to the tips of the fingers and toes, serve as a tool for manipulating objects, and act as an indicator of health and nutrition. The growth of nails is an important process which should be monitored, as it can be an indicator of various medical conditions. This article will discuss the growth of nails, its normal rate, and any factors which may affect it. To begin, it is important to understand how nails grow. The growth of
nails
is a complex process that involves multiple parts of the body. The nail bed is the area of the skin beneath the nail plate. It is composed of specialised cells which form the nail plate, the visible part of the nail. The nail matrix is the area beneath the cuticle. It contains specialised cells which produce the nail plate and its components. It is from the nail matrix that the nail plate is formed and begins to grow.

Nails grow at a rate of approximately 1/8 inch per month. This means that a full nail cycle, from the time a nail is cut to when it is completely replaced, takes around 6 months. However, this rate may vary depending on factors such as age, health, and diet. Age is an important factor when it comes to nail growth. In general, nails tend to grow faster in children and slow down as we age. As we age, the nail matrix weakens, leading to slower nail growth. Additionally, the nail plate becomes thicker, making it harder for the nail to grow.
Health is also an important factor in nail growth. Certain medical conditions, such as thyroid and kidney disorders, can affect the rate of nail growth as well as the appearance of nails. Additionally, trauma to the nail bed can cause the nail to grow abnormally or even stop growing altogether.

Diet is also an important factor in nail growth. A diet that is rich in proteins, vitamins, and minerals is essential for healthy nail growth. Eating a balanced diet and taking vitamin supplements can help to ensure that the nails are getting the nutrients they need to grow properly. Finally, habits such as biting or picking at the nails can also affect nail growth. This can cause the nail to become weak and brittle and can also lead to infection. Additionally, using harsh chemicals or cleaners on the nails can damage the nail bed, resulting in slower growth. In conclusion, nail growth is an important process which should be monitored.
